Announcing the formation of The Midwest Military Radio Collectors Group
(MMRCG)

Building on the success of the Military Radio Collectors Association (MRCA)
in the Northeast and the Military Radio Collectors Group (MRCG) on the West
coast, we are pleased to announce the formation of the Midwest Military
Radio Collectors Group (MMRCG). We share the same goal - to bring together
people who have a common interest in the collection, restoration, operation,
and free exchange of information pertaining to military radio and related
equipment. Our intention is the group will be loosely structured, with
membership consisting of those who participate, whether in person at events,
on the air, or via the MMRCG groups.io board. The board can be found at
<https://groups.io/g/MMRCG> https://groups.io/g/MMRCG

Success of this group depends on participation so please watch our groups.io
board for future news regarding nets and activities.

While our Midwest members are more geographically spread-out, our initial
event will be one that already brings many of us together - The Dayton
Hamvention, held May 18-20, 2018, at the Greene County Fairgrounds in Xenia
OH. MMRCG will be operating the usual nets on Saturday 5/19:

     - The WWII Net on 3885 KHz AM, 12:00pm EDT

     - HF Pack Net on 18.157.5 MHz USB, 1:15pm EDT

     - The Cold War Net on 51.0 MHz FM, 2:30pm EDT

Both 51.0 MHz FM and 3885 KHz AM will be monitored all day Friday and
Saturday, and an informal "radio check" will be held at 4PM Friday afternoon
to make sure those batteries are charged!

Other suggestions for events, both in-person and on-the-air, are welcome.
Look for our banner and canopy in spaces 7740, 41 & 42 at the Hamvention and
stop by to say hi and visit.
