I think maybe you are right. The Aerhart mystery gets
discussed with such seriousness that its easy to miss a tongue in
cheek comment. I mean this has been seriously proposed.
Its interesting to me that a couple of years after this
Howard Hughes made a round the world flight, not to prove his
heroism but rather to demonstrate that aircraft had developed far
enough to make international travel by air practical.
