Sounds like "carbon-zinc" and "zinc-chloride" may be essentially the same type, according to The Great Google.  
In the familiar carbon-zinc cell the carbon rod was only an electron collector terminal for manganese dioxide or another chemical that provided the cathode action. The zinc was the anode material.  So a "zinc-chloride" battery is just advertising the chemical used in a zinc and carbon cell design.
