[ARC5] Vibrator Power Supplies

Back in the 1960s, when FM was starting to "take off" because of changes in the commercial technical requirements that made a lot of equipment obsolete at very good prices (often free).  The number of mobile units greatly exceeded the number of base stations available.  To have equipment capable of operating from fixed locations, either 6 VAC or 12 VAC (depending on the unit) was connected to the vibrator socket and that worked very well.

The vibrator usually operates around 120 half-cycles per second which equates to applying 60 Hz AC at the appropriate voltage.  Again, that worked very well.

 Today I dismantled on old Lear aircraft radio power supplyto use the chassis for something else.   Are vibrator power supply transformers likely to work wellon 60 HZ or are they designed to use higher frequencies?
