[ARC5] BC-455 not working

Standard "Troubleshooting 101" says to check voltages first. Caps
(especially Black Beauties -- just replace any of those you encounter)
leak, carbon comp resistors drift upward, etc.
Silver mica caps can develop a problem from electromigration of silver,
causing anything from high noise to near shorts. Ones hidden away inside
cans can sometimes be missed.
If all that checks out ok, then you start looking for things along the
signal path. Is the LO oscillating? On frequency? And on it goes. But
start at the beginning. Keep peeling the layers of the onion. As the old
saying goes, after you've shed enough tears, you'll be done.
