Yes, if there are amplifiers AFTER the modulated stage. But this is actually an advantage.
Another big advantage to controlled-carrier modulation is that there is far less power
required in the modulator and no necessity for "heavy iron", large tubes, or another HV
power supply.
Secondly, it can be used in communication with SSB stations and if the SSB station is
carefully zero-beated, he will perceive the received signal as SSB, although it isn't.
