    According to the article there were both carbon and dynamic 
elements. Carbon has the advantage of much higher output than dynamic 
eliminating the need for a stage of amplification. However, the quality 
leaves something to be desired. These could well be used in boom sets 
since they can place the element close enough to the mouth.
