I harbor grave doubts that the "Green Books" appellation originated on any qth.net mailing list. :-)

That reminds me of the ending of that most famous Hindu "Creation Hymn" (Rig Veda X:129):

"Who knows from whence creation came...
 Who fashioned it, or did not?
 He who views all from the highest heaven...
 Only he knows. Or perhaps he knows not."
