[ARC5] G & G Radio in NYC

G&G Radio, that Jeff mentioned, is where my Dad purchased a T-19 xmitter for me in 1953. And I still have it.

In 1961 while in the Army, I was stationed in Ft. Ord, CA. As I was going to be living off base, I brought with me that T-19, a power supply I built based on the one in "Command Sets", and a SX-99 Hallicrafters Rx. Was on the air using CW for about a week or so until I started getting "OO" notices about how bad my signal was chirping and burping. With the added admonition that I was to clean up my signal ASAP.

Some of you may remember the Berlin Crisis going on in 1961, and shortly after receiving my OO notices I was on a troop ship headed for Bremerhaven, Germany, and from there to Bad Kreuznach! No more ham radio for a while.
Best,
Tom. KE4RHH
