[ARC5] Transistorized ARC-5 Receiver

I successfully converted the RF and IF amplifier stages of an ARC-5
receiver to FETs,
using the commonly available MPF-102. I simply soldered the gate, source,
and drain
leads to the grid, cathode, and plate terminals respectively on the tube
sockets.
Hardly any retuning was necessary, because the rather long wiring leads to
the socket
terminals mostly determine the capacitance, rather than the internal
capacitances of
the devices.
Changed the cathode resistors to 270 ohm, a typical source resistor
value used in
ARRL Handbook circuits of the time.
