The earliest date on TM 11-600 (manual for SCR-508) that I have is 
7/12/1941.  1942 Signal Corps Order Numbers (FY-42 began 01 July, 1941) on SCR-508 
components are common.

SCR-508 was used in all Armor except SP Guns and TD's which were classified 
as Artillery.  SCR-608 was the much rarer Artillery version.
