I just found another source for those transformers, and the price is $3.95, but the highest
impedance is around 10K, and the next one down from that is about 5K. That is a 5W job.
Outputs are 4 and 8 ohms.
And a 10 watt job from another source (Parts Express) for $4.90 with a primary tap at 8K
and secondaries of 4 and 8 ohms.
Anyway, these are 70.7 V "line transformers".
Radio Shack used to sell one, their 32-1031, which did 4, 8, or 16 ohms, up to 10 watts, and
had an 8K primary tap.
One "nice" thing about these is that they can handle high voltages (easily at least 250 VDC)
and their frequency response is usually very good: like 30 to 100KHz.
Anyway, this is something to think about for our favorite receivers which have shot audio
output transformers...
