Our new LG washing machine also outputs a noise very similar to what Dave is hearing. It 
has a computer-controlled variable-speed motor too. 

Ours is centered around 500 kHz though, luckily...or not as the case may be since I would 
really like to do some work on the "new" 630 meter band.

I sure wish the FCC would release that for us to use.
