 No, they are 1940s vintage high impedence ones (~1K ohm dc resistance).

I am very suspicious about one thing has not been addressed here: I found that if I used 
modern headphones for listening to our mil gear, the much greater hi-fidelity bandwidth of 
those 'phones made it very, very annoying to use.

I would hear crap that I really didn't want to hear when using those, so I switched back to 
military 'phones.

The military headphones were severely bandwidth limited for a reason.

Are you, perhaps, using modern 'phones?
