When I was at Keesler going to electronic NAV school (1961), the ARC-65 
was still (?) being taught.  It was a horrendous radio set, unlike the 
618-xx series.  Interesting as there were not a few Army techs going 
through the 618- school. The troops in airborne comm had their hands 
full.  The mock-up was a huge trapeze so as to be able to service all 
the guts of the radio.
