I don't think the A-1E as used by the USAF had HF comm. You can see VHF,
UHF, and ADF in the cockpit. I have the pilot's manual for the earlier AD-4
from July 1949 and it shows ARC-1, ARC-5 range receiver, ARR-2A VHF homing,
APN-1, APS-19A and APX-2.
