SEXIST!TRANSGENDERPHOBIST!
All the tubes, on the top I might add have male pins which sit upon and are entirely supported by repressed female sockets.  Furthermore there are no transgender pins!!!!

While tubes might have an attractive shiny chrome like outer appearance,  I have it upon sound authority that there is literally absolutely nothing inside the surface envelope.

 Jay,

That's arguably the path of least resistance, to be sure.  Somewhere I have a bcst band small dial?  Got to find it, now...

jeep,   Why not acquire a remote tuning control head from some other ARC rx and re-paint it's dial or make a conversion chart   from VHF to BC Band..  I was fortunate  enough (or blessed) to acquire a R-22 with a C-57 control head labeled B CAST. But the same head with different dial for LF Band shows up on ePay , C-125 I'm guessing? (I'm not an ARC numerologist).(Mike can fill in here).  It wouldn't be difficult to make a tuning dial disk for these control heads and engrave a 0-100 scale with .1 increments and use as a logging scale for favorite stations or BC band DX logging. An LM frequency meter would be useful here.to measure and record frequency of DX stations. (My plug for the LM-*, an elegant and most useful design of VT technology of the mid-late 1930's).
