The Signal Corp covers the BC943B as an addendum to the SCR 274 manual. There are two pages that list every "different" part, resistor, capacitor and cold solder joint and the part numbers for both. Fortunetly there is a single paragraph which says:
The principal differences between the two receivers are as follows
C 10 A and C10b (The 453 mica has 690 mmf and the 946 has 670 mmf
C 33 wiring only instead of 3 mmf
R 16 and R17 100,000 ohms instead of 150,000
C 39 is omitted
Add wire from high side of R 10 to terminal 9 on J1
This paragraph conveniently does not mention the RF and IF boxes.
Good luck

Subject: [ARC5] Dumb Question No. 125678
I note there is a broadcast band command set RF coil assembly for sale on ebay.
Am I correct in assuming that if you took a BC-453 (for example, or an ARA 190 - 550 KHZ set), replaced the original 190- 550 KHZ RF coil set with the one from a BC band set, and replaced the 85 KHZ IF coils with the 239 KHZ coils from a BC band set then you would have a BC band receiver?
Thanks
Wayne
