I had one outside light switch box that was intended to illuminate the pool equipment area.  It was so prone to having spiders pack it with their eggs, rendering it inoperative, that I finally removed it.  

Aside from that, removing that switch facilitated the replacement of the unacceptable Pacific Electric circuit breakers - and besides, the switch was located in a position where you had to climb around the pool equipment in order to turn on a light designed to enable you to see it.
