Not necessarily, most radio equipment was “GFE” or Government Furnished Equipment, and was not installed by the Manufacturer. It was typically installed at a completion center, or by Government/military personnel, hence the need for “ferry” sets like the ubiquitous BC-1206 range receiver.

The Vultee BT-13 and its Navy equivalent, the SNV, came off the same production line. I'd be willing to bet that both a/c were fitted with the SCR-183/283.

I have a BD-AR-93 (dynamotor for the SCR-AR-283),
with an NAS JAX overhaul sticker dated sometime in 1950.

Also has a paper tag with the stock number
R-16-D5565-600. Isn't that a Navy stock number?

The paper tag says: "Attach forms NAVAER-26508B, C, D
or E in this space when required. "

No entry for "PLANE TYPE" which would have been interesting.
