It's already been reasonably proposed to be the AN/TRC-77.

None should have been surplused yet 50 years ago, but both versions have been pretty common for 35 years or so.

RT-654/TRC-77 and RT-654A/TRC-77 have several significant and many small differencs...get the RT-654A if possible.  They show up at hamfests and on ebay fairly often.

They are 6-channel crystal-controlled 3 to 8 MHz CW-only units.  Hybrid...uses 3B4 and 2E24.

There is a rare USB and CW version, the RT-655/TRC-88.  Mine is serial number 9.  So that is another possible suspect.
