It is a safe bet that you will never find the FT-260-A or C-24/ARC-5 local control adapters at any hamfest...now or fifty years ago. These were almost never used in real military installations and so were never made in great numbers. They have always been in great demand since post-WWII surplus releases after 1945.
eBay represents the only realistic source. Things very rare and in demand naturally generate high prices from the bidders, **not the sellers**.
In more than fifty years of collecting these sets, and attendance at many Dayton Hamventions and regional hamfests, I have acquired only one FT-260-A and one C-24/ARC-5. Both came from...er...ebay!

Yes, the one with the volume control and the "CW-OFF-MCW" switch is FT-260A which is very hard to find. There is a large Hamfest coming up next week , so maybe I'll get lucky and find one (or two!)Ebay sellers are INSANE!
