[ARC5] roller inductors

An intelligent young lady by the name of Bobbi Barmore on the old
Boatanchors reflector did some extensive tests on silver polish for
roller inductors because she was chief engineer of a broadcast station.
Under microscopic analysis, the "quick" solutions like the wipes and
Tarn-X etched thousands of microscopic holes into the silver layer, and
guess what? It then/enhanced/ the action of atmospheric sulfides on the
surface of the wires because of significantly increased area exposed to
the air. Switching to a cream based polish solved the problem. You
might get quick results with the quick methods, but you have set the
stage for eventual failure. I've never had that problem with Hagerty's
or the other high quality silver polishes, and I have checked with a
microscope more than once since then.
