We can’t even get zinc chromate in Australia. I wonder what is the smallest can available – of either alodine or zinc chromate - that would get through our Customs and Post Office inspections?

Yes, you can still get Alodine in the US.  Whether it differs from the old stuff I do not know.

However, Zinc Chromate paint I think is out of production in the US.  I think that for years we were getting old production that was pretty crappy stuff - it clogged the valves incredibly bad and left a rough finish as well.  But now we can get Canadian made Zinc Chromate paint and the quality is excellent.
