Well...no. It's the A.R.C. Type 15 VHF **navigation** set. It was a.k.a. as several forms of the AN/ARN-30*.

The common **communications** gear made by A.R.C. was known in its most popular form as A.R.C. Type 12. This gear is often incorrectly called "ARC-12", especially on poorly-researched or careless web sites. That can cause confusion with the *real* AN/ARC-12. That is the UHF-AM version of the VHF-AM AN/ARC-1, using the 10-channel crystal-controlled RT-58/ARC-12. All it takes to change an AN/ARC-1 aircraft installation to the AN/ARC-12 is pulling the RT-18/ARC-1 from its rack, sliding the RT-58/ARC-12 into the rack, and changing the antenna. The RT-58 is seldom seen today, although Fair Radio sold them 45 to 50 years ago.
