[ARC5] More Condenser/Capacitor Trivia

Earlier ads for Solar list it as Solar Mfg Company, the later one as
Solar Sales Company. Same products. I am pretty sure this is the
company who made the capacitor checker. Now, Solar was advertising in
1946 but I have a "Radio's Master" catalog that lists Solar but the
pages are "reserved" and are not actually in the book. A later "Radio's
Master" does not show Solar at all nor can I find any ads from them
after about 1946. So, what happened? I've tried searching the web but
there are too many other companies named "Solar" or some variation of
it, particularly these days with solar power and heating being so
popular. The other company who seems to have disappeared around the
same time was Micamold. While Micamold is associated with flat package
paper capacitors that resemble mica caps they actually made all types of
capacitors and were a fairly popular brand. No sign of them after WW-2.
There were many business failures around that time so its possible both
companies were victims of the rapidly changing economy but it would be
interesting to have some history. If Solar Manufacturing went bankrupt
its possible Solar Sales may have been a receiver. I don't know where
to look for such information. This is not really ancient history; it
all happened in my lifetime, but one would have to go back a generation
at least to find people who actually remember (not many left any more).
