Oh dear oh dear. Really Wayne, you want to open that can of worms. Recall a little skirmish in Arnhem ?, British Airborne, 10,000 went in, 2,000 came out after days of the most grulling conditions ever.
In the UK version of the film the sets in the workshop are WS22's, one is centre picture upside down and several WS19's on the wall behind. Also, a BC221, several WS18 or 68 sets and an I-177 valve tested with an 807 in it.
And in the Arnhem battle scenes they are WS22 and WS68's.

Subject: [ARC5] Radios in the Movies
In the film "A Bridge Too Far" there is a scene in the radio shop where they are expressing concerns about their radios being able to handle the mission requirements.
They had every right to be concerned. The radios in that shop appear to be almost entirely wood-cased BC-band sets. If they were not trying to receive information from Glenn Miller using that lot they were in deep trouble.
Communications were a major flaw in Operation Market Garden, which was deeply flawed in just about every way in the planning, but executed brilliantly and with incredible bravery by the US elements. See the book "September Hope" if you want to be impressed by the Airborne.
