[ARC5] Radios in the Movies

In the film "A Bridge Too Far" there is a scene in the radio shop where they are expressing concerns about their radios being able to handle the mission requirements.

They had every right to be concerned. The radios in that shop appear to be almost entirely wood-cased BC-band sets. If they were not trying to receive information from Glenn Miller using that lot they were in deep trouble.

Communications were a major flaw in Operation Market Garden, which was deeply flawed in just about every way in the planning, but executed brilliantly and with incredible bravery by the US elements. See the book "September Hope" if you want to be impressed by the Airborne.
