Good Morning,

I get vintage QSL cards as a Christmas present from my daughter's boyfriend. I like to track down the equipment used.

This year' card as a 1958 QSL form LA7JF in Oslo to KODBK in Kansas. The LA station was using a BC-312G as a receiver and an ARC-5 as the transmitter.

The CW QSL took place on 20 meters CW with a power of 50 watts. I assume this is input power.

Does anyone know of any popular mods of the ARC-5 transmitters for 20 meter operation?

I guess you could put a tripler in a T-20 or a doubler stage in a T-21 or T-22. Did they replace the magic eye tube or crystal with the multiplier stage?

How did they modify the output for 20 meters?

HNY
