There were dynaverters for the later ARC grey boxes, the military had a
Dynaverter replacement for the ARN-59 ADF in addition to the LF range
receiver Dynaverter.

If anyone is interested, somewhere around here, I have a manual on the solid
state DC units (not the AC units), which if I recall correctly they called
something like Dynaverters. However, AFAIK they only made them to replace
the D-10A's which are slightly beefed up versions of the DY-1/ARR-2X and
DY-2/ARR-2. No solid state equivalent for the DY-8/ARC-5 (DM-33 and
NT-21626).

Aircraft Radio Corp. made a number of AC power supplies that fit in
place of the dynamotor, but I think they were for lab or other work at
the Boonton plant, which is where I saw them, back in the day. They also
made transistorized power supplies that replaced the dynamotor and I
think were sold with the civil aviation sets or at least the later
military stuff.
