In point of fact, Gordon, I used your old article "Command Receivers for All Frequencies: the
Easy Way". to finally get the BC-454 working which I own which had been "converted" to
cover 27 - 30 MHz back in 1950 or so.
The coils which were in it were so far off of what they should have been that the original
conversion never would have worked.
I used your data to wind coils which finally DID work.
The tuning capacitor had been so badly torn up that there was not enough Delta-C to
enable coverage of 27 - 30 MHz, but it DOES cover from -28 to 30+ MHz now just fine.
And the tube lineup remains exactly as your RAT has.
The receiver works very, very well at 10 meters.
