Now that is amazing!
Did you know that for checking out the wiring harness of the Atlas ICBM and space booster they used a DTMCO machine? The Drive In Theater Movie Check Out machine was designed to do a continuity checkout of drive in movie speakers. Hooked up at the drive-in it would do a continuity check and print out a report on which speakers were bad. It did the same thing to the Atlas wiring harnesses right up into the 1990's.
So the Atlas inspired the development of WD-40 and a development of the drive in movie industry supported the Atlas checkout.
