G'day Ken!
Here, in Australia, there are many NDBs active. At night the band
comes alive.
I have a log here of stations I heard on a single night - it's about
the size of a spreadsheet - so probably 40 to 50 stations.
Some stations are close (less than 50km). Others are interstate - so
1000 to 1500km. Many stations are only 100W.
Others (eg WLM at Williamtown) service a commercial airport and RAAF
base.
Williamtown is on air continually - (about 362 or 363 kHz)
The BFO (in the Nav sets) make finding a station easier.
I use the BFO to find the carrier, then I listen for the call (in
MCW).
Great report!
