[ARC5] What is a "radio range filter"?

    This article also mentions the Southern California Edison Company's 
use of 50 Hz power until the late 1940s. While the City of Los Angeles 
got its power from the owned and operated Department of Water and Power 
most of the outlying areas were either SCE or had their own power 
companies. Much of the San Fernando Valley was SCE rather than DWP so it 
had 50Hz power.
