My bad, the article is in Volume 2 on page 59.
Also in that article all tubes have been changed to 6v heaters so the eye tube was a 6E5.
Your going to have to determine if the receiver is still using 12v tubes or has been converted to 6v tubes ( just look at the tube numbers). Since the eye tube socket is an octal it is likely a 1629 which uses an octal socket. The 6E5 uses a large six pin socket though there are British 6E5GT/CV1906 eye tubes that are octal based.
