The antenna select makes a fairly loud "clunk" when selected. The cathode select relay is quiet compared to that.
When keying the system as it was originally designed , the osc, screen, and plate B+ are "hot keyed" simultaneously via the modulator keying relay.the antenna switch relay is also heard at the same time. I can definitely hear them, but they are not objectionably loud. I get chirp, but no backwave. The chirp appears to be function of loading/current and the power supply stability.

The reason, as I understand it, was that it was still using one of those big
alternators for the transmitter.
