Heh! Speaking of "backwave", the Navy VLF station at Lualualei Hawaii (I can't remember the call right now) had a backwave that was not much more than 10 dB less than the main signal. The reason, as I understand it, was that it was still using one of those big alternators for the transmitter. I don't recall anyone complaining about it though... Ken W7EKB
