Since a 1T4 has no separate cathode element, I guess the trick was placement
of the mic between ground and a common connection to filament minus and
filament + via the filament battery?? Then the battery would be in the
modulating signal path acting like a large capacitor. I'm always intrigued
by these circuits with miniature battery tubes.
