OK, got my 250V converter, and found that it is intended only as a cap
charger.  Half wave rectification, so even with a large output cap, you get
excessive ripple at higher currents.  Since it is not isolated, you can't
use a bridge.  Might be best to roll your own, unless the current
requirements are quite modest (probably fine for a command RX, with a PI
section output filter (C-R-C).
