[ARC5] Chinese switching converters

Look for boost converters, and then look at specs. Many can use an outboard
FET along with an inductor or transformer, to make just about any voltage
and current you need (within reason). If you are making a receiver supply,
I would pick a switching frequency above the audio passband, that is not
harmonically related to the receiver frequency range. A little
experimenting will go a long way, and you will find that these modern switch
mode IC's are very easy to use. I will look later and post some
representative ICs and development boards.

Hi Scott,
Can you point us to any specific model numbers? Looking at Maxim, they've
got at least 100 different power-related eval boards...
thanks much and 73,
