Only a guess, but yes, probably too much iron. Also the magnetizing current may be too low at 400 HZ. It might work a little bit though.

can guess why. Would be nice to "speed up"
a little UPS if possible.
P.S. Has anyone had any luck getting the makers
of APC and other UPSs to mail a diagram?
