[ARC5] TRW Swap Meet

When I lived in Torrance, after I found out about the TRW Swap Meet, I never missed it and went, rain or shine.  I have a nice TS-46/APR that I bought there for $10 one rainy day. Somebody later remarked that, rain or not, you probably could not stop having it if even if you wanted to.  I also recall there was a ham swap meet every weekend somewhere in southern Calif.  When I missed the TRW Swap because I was working out of town one weekend I went to the one in San Diego; told my girlfriend it would be a fun trip.  There, I pointed to a bunch of ARC-5's and asked her which one she wanted me to buy for her.

I went to the TRW swap meet a few times after I moved to Lompoc and once even after I moved to Virginia since I was out on the West coast anyway.  I went there only once after moving to Florida and I found that it had been "discovered", was bigger than ever, and was no longer just a ham event.  I suspected that would kill it eventually.
