Love it, Roy.
Though on small transformers the mag current can be up to 10% of FL current.

Bill,

I suggest you proceed with extreme caution. Don’t run your transformer
backwards.

-The transformer that is running backwards will suck the flavor out of your
coffee.
-Then because of the bad coffee, you’ll become unhappy and turn to the radio
for solace.
-Then you’ll turn the radio volume way up to match your unhappy mood.
-Then the transformer will suck more flavor out of your coffee and make you
even more miserable.
-Then you will be tempted to do something totally irrational and
irresponsible.
-Like go outside and mow the lawn.
-Your wife will call the medics to come and take you away.
-And where they take you they won’t let you have any coffee.

This will be bad. Don’t run your transformer backwards.

Besides, the magnetizing current will likely be not more than two percent of
the loaded current.
You can’t win.

Roy
