Hello, Mike. Though they may physically look alike, there are significant electrical differences between GF and -183 coils. Unless this coil was built in 1941 to fit the original 1933 GF or GF-1,- exceedingly unlikely as these were practically prototypes and nearly a decade in the past- it is undoubtedly an SCR-183 transmitter coil. That it has Navy acceptance test stampings and a Navy contract number makes the mystery even juicier.73 Dave S.
