The RE-94 is the hot mic relay for the AIC-10 interphone system, it allows
the pilot to talk on interphone with pressing the PTT(used for running
checklists, or when the crew is task saturated). It has a microphone/
headset amplifier and two multipole relays to perform this feat. Most all
multi-pilot airplanes that used the AIC-10 had this feature, including
C-130A/Bs, C-124s, KC-97s,KC-135s, B-52s, etc. It is probably of no use
with the radios you are using, unless you are controlling the radios through
an interphone system, although the AM-476() amplifier is nice, and has a
very effective AGC circuit, assuming it is a solid state amp (potted) and
not the original with 4 subminiature tubes, which requires B+ from a
dynamotor that was removed when the system were solid stated in the late
fifties.

Subject: [ARC5] RE-94A/AIC-10

I bought something called an RE-94A/AIC-10 from Fair Radio. It is a nice
little black crinkle finish box with some relays and an audio amplifier
module in it. I was hoping to use it in conjunction with the ARC-114 and
ARC-116 I have, since I assume they were designed to be used in connection
with an aircraft intercom system.

The piece came with a schematic that I can't see is applicable. Anyone know
anything about this gear?

Thanks,

Wayne
