[ARC5] ARC5 receiver capacitors and looking for R23A Z1 IF coil

Hi Mike,

You already have some good replies from a couple of others on the list.
I agree with what they have said.

I have some caps with appropriate values and rated for 600 volts! Those
should be pretty safe even if somebody applies 250 or even has an
accident - applies 300 volts. I use those higher voltage ratings even
though I use approximately 180 volts DC maximum on my receivers and as
low as 90 volts. The radios will probably outlast me and who knows -
somebody else might put a dynamotor or bigger power supply on one of
them and expose everything to higher voltage. I might even do that by
accident <evil grin>.

I don't use terminal strips. I mount the caps right where they are used
- most of them from a tube pin to ground. Just make a diagram of where
all the old ones go and check them off as you mount the new ones. I made
the 'schematics' AND drew pictures <evil grin>. That made it simple
enough that even *I* could do it.

Good luck with your project. Happy New Year.

Bill KU8H
