Many of the early ARC-5 modification articles were sponsored by the big name
ham radio companies. They knew that radical modifications of cheap war
surplus
gear would usually result in frustration with many modifiers giving up and
buying
their products. Destruction sponsored by the big companies. And CQ magazine
was complicit in that.
