  Hello Glen,
  I saw my HP 608 signal generator 'go up in smoke' because I trusted 
  the advice I got when I bought the unit.
  In brief - I was told - "recapped"
  One HV cap 'went' and then everything back from it 'went',  including
  some hard to get RF chokes.
