[ARC5] Question on receivers...

I was under the impression that the 12SF7 was never used in the Army 
SCR-274N BC-(*) models, but only in the Navy AN/ARC-5 models

A friend recently bought what was purported to be a modified BC-453B, yet 
today he told me that there is a 12SK7 in the socket labeled 12SF7.

If he is correct, I suspect that he has an R-23/ARC-5 with a BC-453 outer 
case on it.
