[ARC5] Removable whip antenna anyone? ARR-3 or SCR-269

Attached are two shots of an antenna base that I just picked up for the
museum's ARR-3 sonobouy set. I was hoping to find the antenna for it. It
looks like a removable whip but I don't have any other details. At this
point I should ask if anyone might have a manual for the ARR-3 that I could
purchase or copy.

So far I don't see that the ARR-3 was used in the PV-2 but it may have been
a field mod. What applications of the ARR-3 have you all seen?

This removable whip brings up another question. I have seen a whip antenna
on the top and bottom of the B-17G just in front of the cockpit wind screen
or forward of the entry hatch that was used for the SCR-269 radio compass
sense antenna. I wonder if this used the same mounting as this ARR-3.

Does anyone have any information or photos for the whip antenna used in the
radio compass? I would love to get an example for our collection should
there be one available out there.

Thanks,

Taigh
